My Total Rewards, Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System (2024)

My Purpose

The meaningful connection between our daily work, each other, our patients and the communities we serve. We see our work as a calling, and whether you work directly with patients or serve in an administrative or support capacity, we all play an important role in healing our community. We’re more than our job descriptions, we are real people who go beyond what is expected to help everyone live healthy, happy lives. We believe when we thrive, our communities thrive.

  • Our Mission

Inspired by the vision of St. Francis of Assisi and the tradition of the Roman Catholic Church, we extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ to God’s people, especially those most in need. We call forth all who serve in the healthcare ministry, to share their gifts and talents to create a spirit of healing, reverence and love for all of life, with joyfulness of spirit, and with humility and justice for all those entrusted to our care. We are, with God’s help, a healing and spiritual presence for each other and for the communities we are privileged to serve.

My Compensation

My Total Rewards, Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System (1)

Base Pay, plus overtime (if eligible), pay differentials, premiums, and incentive or bonus payments.

  • Just Wages

Our health system has paid above the federally mandated minimum wage for many years and continues to take steps to adjust our organizational minimum wage amount to offer team members a socially just wage.

Each year we review the federal poverty guidelines and adjust the just wage amount accordingly.

  • Compensation

A competitive compensation program is another way we deliver on our commitment to our team. All of our team members are paid a wage for the work that they perform. Your pay is determined in large part by job requirements, skills and knowledge that are used on the job along with what other external employers pay similar jobs. Our Human Resources team regularly reviews over 2,500 jobs across our health system as part of our external market analysis. This exercise helps to ensure our organization knows whether its wages are competitive compared to other employers in the market. Adjustments are then made periodically based on the system’s ability to financially afford them within the budget.

We use the following guiding principles for administering our compensation program:

    • Offer market competitive pay practices
    • Provide compensation that is fair, objective and non-discriminatory
    • Use only valid, recognized salary survey data sources
    • Comply with local, state and federal laws and regulations
    • Be financially responsible and operate within FMOLHS budgetary guidelines
  • Social Security and Medicare

    Social Security$3,410 (6.20% of $55,000)$3,410 (6.20% of $55,000)Medicare$797.50 (1.45% of $55,000)$797.50 (1.45% of $55,000)Total Contribution$8,415 (15.30% of earnings)

It is important to note that Social Security contributions stop when your earnings exceed the Social Security Wage Base (for 2023 that amount is $160,200) and Medicare contributions will apply to all of your earnings without a cap. If your annual earnings exceed $200,000 in a year, the contribution percentage increases to 2.35% on pay over that amount.

Social Security is the term used for the Old-Age, Survivors, and Disability Insurance (OASDI) program in the United States, run by the Social Security Administration (SSA). While best known for retirement benefits, it also provides disability income and survivor benefits. To learn more, click here.

Medicare is the federal health insurance program created to provide health coverage for Americans aged 65 and older. The Medicare program is comprised of four main parts and is administered by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

    • Medicare Part A – often referred to as “hospital insurance” – is devoted to inpatient care, covering the costs of inpatient hospital stays (of at least one night), skilled nursing facility stays (if they meet specific criteria), home health care and hospice care.
    • Medicare Part B – often called “medical insurance” – covers outpatient expenses, including physician and nursing fees, as well as a range of services (such as x-rays, diagnostic tests, and renal dialysis) and some equipment.
    • Medicare Advantage (Part C) – allows Medicare beneficiaries to receive Medicare-covered benefits through private health plans which may also include extra benefits such as prescription drug coverage. In exchange for the benefits, coverage may be limited to network of providers.
    • Medicare Part D – prescription drug coverage – provides substantial price breaks on prescription drugs for those who enroll in Part D plans designed and administered by private health insurance companies.
    • Medicare supplement (Medigap) – is supplemental coverage purchased by Medicare beneficiaries to fill the holes in Original Medicare.

  • Benefit Eligibility

All active full-time (0.8 to 1.0 FTE) and part-time (0.5 - 0.79 FTE) team members are eligible for benefits with FMOLHS.

  • Health Insurance

Health coverage is one of the most important benefits for you and your family. Health benefits provide significant value through support for and protection against potentially large financial expenses, as well as covering preventive care. We are committed to the health and wellness of our team members by offering comprehensive health care plans. The health plan you choose will be in place until the new year, unless you have a qualifying family status change. Our health insurance plans are administered by Blue Cross Blue Shield.

There are three health plan options available to team members:

    • The EPO Plan
    • The PPO Plan
    • HDHSA Plan

Each of these plans are designed to provide you with coverage options that best suit you and your family’s healthcare needs. To learn more about each plan, including premium pricing and coverage details, please reference the Team Member Guide to Benefits.

Network Navigation Resources – Finding an In-Network Provider:

    • Network Guides- We understand the importance of finding a healthcare provider that best meets the needs of you and your family. Our Network Guides are available to help you navigate our FMOLHS customized network. Whether it be our narrow EPO network or our PPO Tier 1 or Tier 2 network, our Network Guides can help you find a provider, assist with scheduling an appointment with network Primary Care Physicians, and check availability of a specialty service within our network.
    • Call (855) 875-6265 to access our Network Guides. You will then be prompted to select a Network Guide for either our Louisiana or Mississippi network. Our Network Guides are available in most locations 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
    • Customized Provider Directory- Current plan members can see the most current list of the customized FMOLHS EPO network or the PPO Tier 1 and Tier 2 network online by visiting
    • NEW RESOURCE: BCBS Shopping for Care Search Tool -Blue Cross Blue Shield, our health insurance administrator, launched new upgrades to the Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) Find a Provider Tool that will make finding a provider and estimating health costs easier for those enrolled in an FMOLHS Health Plan. The updated tool will allow you to not only find providers in your network but also shop for care and preview costs based on your plan, deductible and coinsurance information. For a guide on how to use the new tool, please click here. To start using the Shopping for Care Tool, click here. For a guide on how to use the Shopping for Care Search Tool, click here.
      • Important Reminders:
        • Before receiving care, team members should confirm the location of where services are received and that the location of the provider is in network, as providers may have multiple affiliations, not all of which may be in our network. The best way to ensure this is to make sure you are receiving care from the provider in the location that matches the address listed on the Shopping for Care Tool.
        • The cost tool is based on claims data and because of this the actual provider group names or facility names may not appear. This is due to the way providers file claims after reading tests. For example:
          • If you search for ABC Radiology Group, the name may not come up if there are not enough claims filed under the provider.
          • If Dr. Brown works for ABC Radiology Group and you search for his name, it will likely show more results due to the way claims are filed.

Through a program called “Just Premium”, we offer team members who apply and qualify for financial assistance based on total household income the opportunity to reduce their health plan premiums. Based on the team members total household income (adjusted gross income) and the number of dependents you claim on your Federal Individual Income Tax Return, team members may be eligible to receive a higher subsidy to improve affordability and access to coverage. Details about the just premium application process are communicated each open enrollment period. To apply for Just Premium, download and complete the application and submit it to

  • Flexible Spending Account

We offer our team members the ability to set aside money through payroll deductions on a pre-tax basis to aMedical Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA). This account allows you to pay for out-of-pocket health care expenses, such as deductibles, copays, coinsurance, prescribed medications, dental expenses, vision expenses, Lasik and more. By paying for these expenses with pre-tax dollars, you reduce the amount of your taxable income and increase your take-home pay. Any dollars in an FSA account at the end of the calendar year must be used or you will forfeit those dollars.

For those team members enrolled in a Health Savings Account (HSA), a Limited use Flexible Spending Account (LUFSA) is available to use for reimbursem*nt of eligible dental and vision expenses. If you enroll in the HSA account and also enroll in the Medical FSA, the Medical FSA automatically becomes a Limited use FSA.

You can set aside up to the IRS established limit each calendar year in payroll deductions.

  • Health Savings Account

For those team members enrolled in the High Deductible Health Savings Account medical plan and who meet certain other requirements for eligibility, we offer the ability to take charge of your health care spending with a Health Savings Account (HSA). Contributions made to an HSA are tax free and withdrawals for qualified medical expenses are tax free. Your HSA funds can be used for qualified expenses, including those of your spouse and/or taxable dependent(s), even if they are not covered by your plan. PayFlex is the administrator of the HSA and will issue a debit card which gives you direct access to your account balance which allows you to use the debit card to pay for qualifying medical expenses.

For those team members who enroll in the plan, there are two ways to fund your account. We will provide an annual employer contribution to your HSA account in the amount of $750 for employee only coverage or $1,500 for family coverage. In addition to the employer contribution, you can make your own contributions to your HSA account up to the IRS limit. For 2023, individual contributions are limited to $3,100 for employee only and $6,250 for family coverage.

  • Dental Insurance

Proper dental care plays an important role in your overall health. We offer dental plans that are designed to encourage preventive treatment, allowing team members to achieve oral health while striving to minimize dental costs. The dental plans are administered by Delta Dental.

The dental plans allow you to visit any licensed dentist, but by taking advantage of the nationwide PPO network you will maximize the value of the plan. You can search the Delta Dental PPO network for a dentist near you by visiting the Delta Dental Dentist Directory.

There are two options for Dental Coverage:

    • The Basic Dental Option – This plan offers reduced semi-monthly premiums, has less coverage for major dental services and a reduced maximum limit. It does not include orthodontia coverage. For those of you with basic dental needs throughout the calendar year, this plan may be better.
    • The Buy Up Dental Option – While this dental plan has higher semi-monthly premiums, it offers higher coverage for major dental services, includes orthodontia coverage, and has a higher annual maximum limit. This plan may be better suited for those with moderate to major dental service needs throughout the calendar year.

The FMOLHS recognized holidays are: New Year’s, Good Friday, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
