Everton interested in Goncalo Borges

Everton are reportedly interested in Porto winger Goncalo Borges.

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the Blues face competition from West Ham as they eye a late move in the transfer window for the winger.

He is said to be attracting interest and could be on the move.

Wilfried Gnonto to Everton transfer will be decided by money, PR and other clubs

The battle lines have been drawn in Everton’s pursuit of Wilfried Gnonto but it could be other clubs that end up playing a decisive role.

Leeds United quite clearly have a problem. Gnonto is training away from the first team and will not be involved in the club’s next game against West Bromwich Albion. He has already missed matches against Shrewsbury Town and Birmingham City and is the subject of an “internal disciplinary matter”, Leeds said last week.

The club remain insistent he is not for sale and hold most of the cards - as the ECHO has reported since early July, Gnonto has no release clause, is in the early stages of a long-term deal and on a wage that is considered affordable even with relegation to the Championship.

Yet having a star within the squad who is open to playing elsewhere is far from ideal and while Leeds have the power to keep hold of him well beyond the end of the summer transfer window, the thoughts of Daniel Farke and others within the hierarchy at Elland Road must also turn to the likelihood of him being able to reintegrate successfully once the year enters September.

Arnaut Danjuma sends blunt message over Everton relegation battles after Sean Dyche transfer talks

Everton may be a side in need of heroes but Arnaut Danjuma’s main target is to help his teammates shine.

The attacker wants to become a key component within Sean Dyche’s Everton project this season and would love to have a big impact on the Goodison Park crowd - just like his friend Richarlison did for so long.

Yet the 26-year-old is aware his former teammate’s status as a Blues hero can only be bestowed upon him by the fans and his aim is to work hard for the squad. If he becomes a favourite of the supporters in doing so it will be a bonus, he said.

The winger could soon get his first opportunity to make a difference from the beginning of a match, with Dyche set to consider him for a first start when Everton travel to Aston Villa on Sunday.

Danjuma is well aware of the recent plight of his new club. He came within a few pieces of paperwork of joining Everton amid the chaotic January in which Frank Lampard, whose presence had been part of the appeal of a loan switch from Spanish side Villarreal, was sacked.

The departure of Lampard created uncertainty about the move that allowed Tottenham Hotspur to swoop in the month’s most dramatic transfer storyline. Had Lampard remained Everton boss for a few more days, Danjuma would likely have been on the frontline of the club’s second consecutive relegation battle.

Josh Brownhill eyed?

TEAMtalk have named Everton as one of a number of clubs admiring Burnley midfielder Josh Brownhill.

They report the 27-year-old was left out of the Clarets' opening Premier League match following the signing of Sander Berge, which has prompted Wolves to 'test their resolve'. Crystal Palace, Leeds, Leicester, Middlesbrough and the Blues are the other sides credited with interest.

It is said Vincent Kompany doesn't want to lose his player, but one year left on his contract makes this a difficult situation. Sean Dyche could have the upper hand here given the fact he signed Brownhill for the Lancashire club in 2020.

Mohammed Kudus handed Premier League lifeline

Former Everton target Mohammed Kudus may yet find himself in the Premier League this season.

Initially linked heavily with a move to Goodison Park ahead of the 2022/23 campaign, this move didn't come to fruition. More recently he was said to be close to signing for Brighton, but again this didn't materialise.

Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, the Ghanaian could become a West Ham player in the near future as talks are ongoing about a switch to London from Ajax.

Demarai Gray offered potential route out of Everton

Despite rumours falling by the wayside in recent weeks, the Daily Mail claim that Fulham will be able to offer Demarai Gray an exit from Goodison Park before the window closes.

They report that as Saudi Pro League Al Hilal have revived their interest in Aleksandar Mitrovic with a £46m bid, this would hand Marco Silva the budget he needs to bring in his three main targets.

Those players are Gray from Everton, Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea and Timothy Castagne from Leicester City.

Wilfried Gnonto contract claim

In their fresh assessment of Leeds United's predicament following Premier League relegation, the Times have claimed the course of events that the Yorkshire club hope will play out with regards to Wilfried Gnonto.

Ultimately, the state that the hope is a new contract will be signed by the wantaway player.

The former England international made 85 appearances for the Blues between 2018 and 2021, scoring 11 and assisting nine goals.

Latest word from Italy on Wilfried Gnonto

Over in Wilfried Gnonto's native Italy, Corriere dello Sport have issued this latest update at 8:10am BST today on the highly-rated winger's future:

In England, Wilfried Gnonto's situation still needs to be resolved: the striker was excluded from the squad by Leeds and is training practically alone together with the Colombian Luis Sinisterra. Gnonto wants to leave the club relegated to the Championship and is waiting for Everton to make an offer higher than the 29 million [euros] already rejected by Leeds."

PNE manager reveals transfer wishes amid Tom Cannon interest

Everton's Tom Cannon has been linked with a loan move to Preston North End before the transfer window closes. As reported by the ECHO last week though, that deal has been put on hold until Sean Dyche makes attacking signings of his own.

Speaking ahead of his team's next Championship fixture against Sheffield Wednesday, Preston boss Ryan Lowe hinted his eagerness for the situation to quickly tip in their favour.

"We definitely need a striker,” stressed Lowe, via the Lancashire Post. "And depending on whether it’s an attacking wing-back, right or left, then another attacking player would suit depending on who we can get.

"If we can get two more attacking players that will make me happy. We’ve got other targets we’re speaking too, so hopefully we can get one or two in the building that we want."

Wilfried Gnonto latest

In his latest transfer round-up column for Football Insider, Pete O'Rourke claims that Wilfried Gnonto is one of the most likely names to depart Elland Road this month.

He states that sources believe the Championship must sell in order to finance further business, and so the Italian - as well as team-mates Tyler Adams, Luis Sinisterra and Crysencio Summerville - are all most likely to be allowed to leave.

Amadou Onana verdict

Another former Manchester United player has spoken against his old club signing Everton's Amadou Onana.

Following on from Rio Ferdinand's harsh statement, Mikael Silvestre has told Erik ten Hag he does not need to sign the Belgian as he already has the tools to challenge for the title.

Speaking to bettingexpert.com, the Frenchman said: "I understand why, profile-wise, this (Amadou Onana) is a player they are looking for, but when you have Scott McTominay, I don’t see what Onana will add to United if you want to step up and challenge for the title.

"He’s not a player United should be chasing. Physically, he and McTominay have the same profile, and it’s not an upgrade, so I don’t think it makes sense unless you’re looking for backup."

Latest word from the Netherlands on Johan Bakayoko

As stated earlier, Football Insider claimed that Liverpool are 'plotting a move for Everton-linked PSV winger Johan Bakayoko.

Following this latest report, the message in the Netherlands suggests their interest has gone one step further. Rik Elfrink of the Eindhovens Dagblad has stated that the Reds have now inquired with the player's management about the financial terms he can be signed.

One piece of good news he provides the Blues with, however, is that Premier League rivals Burnley are no longer in the race.

Patson Daka competition

Everton were previously linked with Leicester City striker Patson Daka, although if interest were genuine they could now face competition from AS Monaco.

As reported late last night by L'Equipe, the Zambian has been identified by the Ligue 1 club as a prime candidate in their search for a forward. They claim that negotiations have been opened over a potential deal and he is 'enthusiastic' about the club's project.

Amadou Onana latest

Amid rumours that Manchester United would make a move for Everton midfielder Amadou Onana, former defender Rio Ferdinand has warned Erik ten Hag he would be 'buying Fellaini again'.

The footballer-turned-pundit warned about a transfer in his latest Vibe with Five podcast, harshly stating: "[Scott] McTominay upgrade? What is he, tell me what he is? Onana is not a holder, he’s not a destroyer. Every single attribute listed, that’s not ten Hag to me. Ten Hag’s about playing through the lines, playing off angles.

"I think he has really good attributes but I don’t think for Man Utd. It’s like [Marouane] Fellaini, it’s like buying Fellaini again for Manchester United."

The Red Devils memorably swooped for Fellaini - another Belgian midfielder at Goodison Park - a decade ago when David Moyes raided his old club. He quickly became a scapegoat of the club's problems, eventually leaving in 2019.

Sky Sports News latest update on Wilfried Gnonto

As reported by the ECHO earlier this week, Everton remain interested in Leeds United's wantaway forward Wilfried Gnonto.

The latest news on their pursuit coming from Sky Sports is that the Italian, currently in exile at his club for refusing to play recent matches against Shrewsbury Town and Birmingham City, is unhappy about the fact he is being denied a transfer.

It is said that the Yorkshire club ended one month-long negotiations with the Blues, listing the 19-year-old as not for sale. Within the month four offers were made, the highest being £25m including add-ons and a sell-on clause.

Jack Harrison first words

Jack Harrison believes he has the right characteristics to help improve the Everton side and has explained why he was so keen to move to the Blues.

The 26-year-old attacker became the club’s fourth summer signing on Monday after completing a season-long loan switch from Leeds United.

"It’s a pleasure to get the deal over the line. I’m really excited to be here. The general feeling from the club has been super positive so I’m just hoping to get back fit soon and be back out on the pitch."

Liverpool rival Everton for Johan Bakayoko transfer

Eveton could be set to battle Liverpool for PSV winger Johan Bakyoko.

It was reported by Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri that the Blues are 'currently in talks' over a move for the 20-year-old.

However, Football Insider has claimed that Liverpool are "plotting a move" for the Belgium international, amid reported interest from Saudi Arabian clubs in Mohamed Salah. The winger is said to be viewed as either a direct replacement or long-term successor to Salah.
